About Me

A

former television broadcaster, I currently enjoy researching the internet and new media through doctoral studies in Communication at the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain, feeding my desire to acquire new insights to enhance my soft and hard skills for greater productivity. Previously, I earned a double master’s degree in International Communication from Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom, and Vilnius University, Lithuania.

At Vilnius University, Lithuania, I pioneered a group research communication campaign, which continues to impact the community. Also, my group at Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom, delivered the winning research pitch to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) on Ethics vs. Profit. I participated in a communications audit for the Leeds Beckett University Postgraduate School. Additionally, I was in Vilnius University, Lithuania’s SMART Internship Programme. My research team worked with the Lithuanian Railway Corporation to deliver a campaign using design thinking. Acquired competencies include self-evaluation, teamwork, creativity, initiative/entrepreneurship, problem-solving and contact-making. Currently, I officially serve as one of the Vilnius University Mentors.

In 2022, I earned the Digital Changemaker Award as part of The World Pulse 50 — a curated list of leaders in the community who are creating extraordinary impact in the areas of storytelling, digital change making, and digital empowerment training through an empowerment programme for girls in which I am a co-collaborator tagged, EmpowHer. Passionate about empowering women and girls, I am a Digital Ambassador on World Pulse, a global social network that supports members to transform communities, where I give back to humanity through virtual volunteering.

Twice though not concurrently, I was the image maker and head of Public Relations at the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Nigeria, an assignment for which I still receive accolades for very creditable performance. During the period, the University won several notable awards. In between, I served as Deputy Registrar, McPherson University, Nigeria, on sabbatical, where I supported the pioneering efforts of the university management to establish a virile university, multitasking seamlessly between the Registry and Public Relations Division. Consequently, I have garnered a wealth of diverse experiences, with increased leadership skills in public relations, communication, and media relations, fielding a beefy background in higher education administration, human resources, and personnel management.

I am an alumna of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) of the Netherlands Universities Foundation for International Cooperation (NUFFIC) and a member of many reputable professional associations such as the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Graduate Women International (GWI) and the Association of University Administrators (AUA).
